I don’t know about you, but when I was using online dating apps, I was often frustrated. From meeting guys who only cared about hooking up, to being lied to about age, relationship status, etc, I struggled to find love. Yes, other people could find success on dating apps, but I could never find a person compatible with me.
Although I read True Love Experiment first (it was a Book of the Month club choice for me last year), I was intrigued by this fictional app that could match people up based on their DNA. Over the holidays, an independent book shop was offering Christina Lauren books signed and I purchased both The Soulmate Equation and In a Holidaze in paperback.
In The Soulmate Equation, the DNADuo app is first introduced and tells the story of River & Jess, the app’s highest scoring couple with a score of 98 compatibility. They are thrown together to market the app for its IPO and explore their compatibility. Both are a bit hesitant to opening themselves up to love; Jess is a single mom who is protective of her family, River comes across as stuck-up & stubborn.
I love Christina Lauren’s writing style. This book was enjoyable and had just a little bit of spice.
